I started ARTSY FARTSY in March 2021. Before that I spent four years in finance at Nykredit, latterly heading a transaction controlling team. It is a long way from posters, which was rather the point.
Everything we sell is printed and framed in our own workshop. I run the presses, choose the papers and specify the frames. That is where the guides on this site come from — five years of seeing which sizes come back, which frame flatters which print, and the many, many ways there are to get a crease into a poster.
I am not an art historian. When we write about Hilma af Klint or the Bauhaus, we do the reading and say where it comes from. What I do know is the physical side: paper weight, glazing, mount sizes, and what a 50×70 actually looks like above a three-seater sofa. That is the part nobody gives you a straight answer to.
I also choose the artists and build the collections. We work with 61 contemporary artists alongside a catalogue of public-domain masters, and ship across Europe and beyond.
