The Sound - Ronny Simon

A green-skinned head faces straight out with eyes nearly closed, and the top of the skull opens into a burst of red, orange and yellow strokes that scatters upward. The ground is a warm orange-red, and a sheet of handwritten music runs across the top of the picture.

Painted in oil over a printed sheet of music, the burst laid on in short loaded strokes. Ronny Simon, born in Surabaya in 1955, is a self-taught Dutch artist who works intuitively and keeps re-examining his own visual language. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
