Inner Space - Fran Rodriguez

A human eye fills the whole picture, the iris opened out into long fibres of amber, ochre and pale blue-grey that radiate from the black pupil. In the middle of the pupil, small against all that dark, an astronaut in a white suit floats with arms and legs loose.

Built as a digital collage, with a photographed iris enlarged until the astronaut inside it reads as a figure in space. Fran Rodriguez, who works as lacabezaenlasnubes, is a Spanish digital artist known for images of humanity's place in the universe, and has worked with bands including Weezer, Tame Impala and Tycho. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
